BleuCycle
The sculpture BleuCycle reflects the city-dweller’s special relationship with the element of water. A father standing beside his bicycle observes and holds the hand of his daughter as she leans towards a pool of water. This father-daughter bond suggests a protective attitude, similar to our responsibilities towards the needs of water, the planet and the living things that inhabit it. The Bicycle evokes our ability to properly manage our urban environment, such as the quality of the air and the fluidity of circulation within it.
Installed in 2013 in Montreal, this sculpture was moved to Baie-Saint-Paul in 2017. It is because of its renowned artistic effervescence and its remarkable natural spaces that the City of Baie-Saint-Paul was chosen to welcome BleuCycle.
White et White
The siblings Céline White and Jean-Guy White are Canadian sculptors born in Quebec City. The preservation of the world’s supply of fresh water is one of their concerns. Their work, at once realist and allegorical, pays tribute to the interchange between humans and nature.
